If you are having a problem with linking to a sub page and the home page reloads, this is a common issue found with Joomla. The issue is Joomla's menu system Item ID. If you do not have a menu item linked to the sub page, the Item ID will default to the Home Page. Item ID's are the part of Joomla that allows you to add modules to certain pages. To solve this type of problem, you can create a "dummy" menu and add a link to the specific page there. Please use the following steps:

#1 Go to your menu manager and create a new menu. You can name this menu anything you like.

#2 Create a new menu item in the new menu you created. If you are trying to link to a specific article and have no menu link to the category that item is in, create a menu link to that category. If you already have link to the category in your site and it is still not working, try creating a direct link to the article.

#3 Done
