If you have uploaded one of our templates to an existing website, several tasks need to be performed:
First you need to get familiar with the content layout and what are the module positions of the new template, on XTC-based templates you can do this by clicking on the thumbnails in the template parameters. You may notice module position names may be different from the ones in your current template, this is because each template can have a different layout and naming convention for the module positions.
Next, existing modules need to be set to their location in the new template. This is done by editing each module's parameters and changing the "Position" parameter to the new value. Knowing the new layout will help on deciding where to place each module.
Finally, the new template should be set as Default in the template manager.
Once these tasks are done, your website will use the new template and content will appear on the right places.
If modules are not relocated to their new positions, Joomla! will not be able to display their contents and your website might look empty.
